Despite having to adjust hours and going without supplies for customers on its 2nd level at the beginning, it seems the Last Crumb is paying attention to the needs of its customers and has delivered adjustments in hours and sundries on the second in very short order. Everyone loves a shop that listens to the needs of its community, so it goes without saying that it can get quite busy and packed here.
What’s even better are their cakes and pies. I have eaten every last crumb and so it is aptly named “The Last Crumb Bakery & Cafe.” All of their pies and cakes are just gorgeous to look at and even that much more tasty. In particular, their vanilla and chocolate cake selection is quite moist and light without being too sweet. For fans of vanilla, their house vanilla icing is worth scraping every last crumb. As for the pies, I would really like to know how they make the crust, so delicate looking with a sugared coating yet strong enough to hold all the fruity goodness in, now that’s precious. Whether for take out or dining in the baked goods here are worth it.
The Last Crumb also carries a decent selection of coffees (Seattle sourced) and teas, that go well with their pastries without overpowering them. Their sandwiches and soups also look scrumptious, will have to give those a try on my next stop. And, for those who like to enjoy an afternoon tea set, you can look forward to that coming soon, it’s in the planning stages for next year’s menu.
